Dining at Lulu's in York: Pacific Rim Flavor with a View
When my oldest daughter, Maddie, asked what I wanted to do for Mother’s Day this year, my answer was simple: food and drinks on the water, preferably in York. A quick Google search led her to Lulu's inside the Nevada Inn. I was already driving, so there was zero opportunity for me to investigate the menu ahead of time—but we were looking for casual oceanfront vibes, and Lulu's absolutely delivered.
As we found parking, it started to rain, but we were able to grab a table under the covered open-air deck with heaters overhead. Even with the weather putting a slight damper on things, we stayed warm and comfortable, and honestly, it only added to the cozy coastal feel.
Then the sun started to peek through, and suddenly we were treated to the most incredible rainbow stretching over the ocean—along with a Lulu's Paloma in hand. Made with jalapeño-infused tequila, grapefruit, Aperol, lime, and chili sumac salt, it was spicy, tart, a little sweet, and completely delicious.
The menu at Lulu's is Pacific Rim inspired, with bold flavor combinations and fresh, tropical ingredients throughout. Lulu's menu is curated by Chef Javier, a Mexico City native and full-time York resident, bringing an authentic touch to the restaurant’s Pacific Rim-inspired menu. To start, we shared the Elote Corn Dip, which was creamy and flavorful with just the right amount of lime to keep it bright and fresh.
Maddie eats gluten-free, so she ordered the Fried Rice Bowl with jasmine fried rice, shredded cabbage, carrots, red bell pepper, broccoli, kale, snap peas, scallions, sesame-soy, and rice wine vinegar, plus added chicken. The portion was generous, everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and she had enough left over for lunch the next day—which is always a win.
I couldn’t decide between the shrimp tacos and the chicken tacos, so naturally I ordered both. If I had to pick a standout, though, it would absolutely be the shrimp tacos. They came loaded with blackened shrimp, mango salsa, slaw, cilantro, radish, and avo ranch. The mango salsa really makes the dish—it’s sweet and tangy, the slaw is crisp and refreshing, and the whole taco just works. Highly recommend.
All in all, Lulu's was exactly what I was hoping for on Mother’s Day: good food, great drinks, laid-back coastal atmosphere, and a view that couldn’t have been better if it tried. If you’re looking for a spot in York with ocean views, fresh flavor, and a fun menu that feels a little different from the usual seaside fare, Lulu's is definitely worth a visit.
