A Sunset to Remember with Isles of Shoals Steamship Company
Looking for a fun and unique way to celebrate with a group? I recently hosted a private sunset charter with Isles of Shoals Steamship Company out of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and it was such a memorable evening.
We rented the Challenger, which accommodates up to 50 guests, and it was the perfect setting for our group. From the start, Tanya was wonderful to work with. She was quick to respond, accommodating, and always happy to answer my questions while we planned our evening.
Once we were on board, Captain Jerod and Andrew, the first mate, were fantastic. They were thoughtful, attentive, and made sure everyone had a great time. Andrew also provided bar service, which was a great addition to the evening.
One of the most fun parts was that Captain Jerod was able to play music from Spotify, so we were cruising around the harbor, enjoying the sunset, and jamming out to Noah Kahan live at Fenway. It honestly couldn't have been a better summer night!
We were also able to bring our own food on board, which gave me the opportunity to add a personal touch to the evening. I made individual mini charcuterie boxes and mini lobster rolls for our guests, which were perfect for enjoying while we cruised. It made the evening feel even more special and personalized.
While I definitely recommend considering a private charter for a special celebration or group event, you don't have to rent the entire boat to enjoy the experience. Isles of Shoals Steamship Company also offers public cruises with individual tickets, and their calendar lists upcoming dates and departure times, making it easy to find a cruise that works for you.
Whether you're planning a birthday, family gathering, celebration, or simply want to spend an evening on the water, I highly recommend checking them out. Beautiful views, great people, good music, delicious food, and an unforgettable sunset—what more could you ask for?
